Did you know that Mother’s Day happens on the fourth Sunday in the festival of Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday and that this began in the Middle Ages when children who had left their families to work in domestic service were allowed to go to their home for the day. Children who had been taken into work would make their way to the family home and pick flowers to gift their mum on arrival.
These days flowers have become a regular gift for mums throughout the year, it’s so easy to pick up a bunch at the supermarket or garage if you are off for a visit, that’s why we think a gift of a hairdressing voucher, or a bundle of haircare goodies might be a much more exciting present to show how much you care.
