Florence

Hi I’m Florence, Director & co-owner of Rhona McCallum Hair. I’m also the daughter of Rhona.

 

I started hairdressing at a very young age, going into the salon with Mum during the school holidays and weekends. I have now been working in the family business for over 12 years. I left school at 16 to start my career in hairdressing.

 

Over the last year I have undertaken a larger role, that of becoming director and joint co owner of Rhona McCallum Hair. I have loved being part of the salons journey and excited for what is yet to come in the future. 

In 2016 I worked in Dubai which was a great experience. I have also won several hair competitions and been part of prestigious hair groups flying up and down to London. I’ve assisted at London Fashion week, and on my days off I’ve worked on many shoots and campaigns for fashion brands creating hair for the models. 

I am (also) the salons head educator and trainer, assessing the team through their apprenticeships in SVQ hairdressing.

 

My passion lies in the salon, working with the team and seeing all my clients on a regular basis, I’m truly grateful as most of them travel from afar. 

You’ll have noticed that the salon has had a new fresh transformation recently. I was given the assignment to transform the salon and I was delighted be able to have a free hand in designing its new look and how it should feel. It’s now a place where we all love to work and create amazing hair. 

I’m a perfectionist when it comes to colouring and styling, it’s what I love doing. Hair extensions is another of my specialties. 

I work in the salon 5 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday, and in my down time I enjoy keeping fit and going to the gym. I also enjoy walks with our dog. Plus meeting up with friends for coffee.
