Did you know, Valentine’s Day was first celebrated in the 14th century, possibly relating to a Christian martyr named Valentine who sent a message to his jailer’s daughter, she was blind, and a miracle happened which restored her eyesight.
Cards and gifts date much later, from about the 1700’s and the gift of red roses first happened around this time.
Of course, we all accept that a bunch of red roses is a lovely gift, but a new hairstyle or products that will last months longer than 12 roses seems to be more appropriate these days.
