World Earth Day
Monday 22nd April is World Earth Day, a day when we focus in on what we are doing to save the planet, the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging us to come together to take action for a healthier planet.
You can find more information here: https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-2024/
Rhona McCallum Hair has always tried to focus on what we, as a salon and local business can do to help look after the environment as best we can. Here’s some of the reasons we choose the brands we carry, alongside the performance of the products, these factors are also very important.
Wella Professionals colours now come in 85% recycled boxes that are fully recyclable, the plastic caps on tubes are also fully recyclable and recycled, and the tubes that your favourite colours are kept in are 100% recycled aluminium.
Davines, one of our in-salon and retail product ranges is B-Corp certified; you can read all about this accreditation here: https://bcorporation.uk/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8K2l2-bGhQMVRpJQBh1ysgtJEAAYASAAEgJCSfD_BwE
Suffice to say, we know Davines do an incredible job in developing products that are fantastic for your hair and just as amazing for the planet. This is very noticeable with the regeneration manifesto campaigns that have been running now for the past 3 years. Ask your stylist about the latest campaign – WE STAND / for regeneration – with the limited-edition hair and body wash bar available free with purchase in the salon.
Eleven Australia products are 100% recyclable and wherever possible steps have been introduced to reduce their carbon footprint, and their suppliers make concerted efforts to:
Reduce plastic use.
Use recycled and (or) recyclable packaging.
Use biodegradable packaging.
Reduce water consumption and use solar power.
And, throughout Europe Eleven Australia is cradle to cradle certified, click here for more information: https://c2ccertified.org/the-standard#
Alongside all these incredible elements our product suppliers make, here in the salon we also do our very best to make the day to day running less damaging to the environment by reducing and minimising (wherever possible) our waste materials, and the use of power and water. Every little step taken helps secure the planet for our children’s and their children’s futures.
So today we want to recognise the good that we can all do in saving our precious resources.
