Colour Trends 2025
Each season brings with it a selection of new trends for haircuts, colours and styles. We have already looked at the big cut trends for early 2025, now it’s time to check out what colours might be big news.
And wow, there are three colour trends that are going to be seen everywhere at the start of 2025, and we are already excited about them here at Rhona McCallum Hair.
Blur: This trend is an update on the ever popular balayage, roots are blurry which creates a soft ‘growing out’ look that is a million miles away from the harsh line associated with growing out a full head of colour. Combined with face framing highlights, the effect is a colour that looks like it’s 3-4 weeks old but still with a fresh feel and it creates a low maintenance colour result. One thing to be aware of, the trend does suggest having reddish roots!!
Ribbons: This is going to be the biggest trend at the start of the year. Multi-dimensional highlights of varying depths and tones create a sultry, soft effect that adds texture and works perfectly in natural darker hair that has natural movement or is permed. Gorgeous in curls and waves. Colours range from dark blonde, honey, champagne and milk chocolate seamlessly blended together.
Midlights: A trend that is a hybrid of balayage and ombre, this technique is all about medium shades, not too light, not too dark. As such the blend of shades works perfectly in darker natural hair and in blondes, creating a low maintenance, multi-faceted effect. Ideal for finer hair as the medium shades add a sense of depth to blondes and a textured appearance to darker shades.
Note: As this trends are hot off the press and news in their technique, we will share images as and when we create them for you.
