The top 5 trends for hair in 2025

Our first blog post of 2025. Happy New Year to you all!

Whilst we have already shared trend predictions for cuts, colours, curls, waves and styling in previous blogs, we have been searching for what are going to be the biggest, must have trends at the start of the year.

Here’s our predictions, based on research from lots of online articles, glossies and what we see happening with you, our on-trend clients.

1: The JAWLINE BOB, perfect for winter as the length allows your hair to still look fabulous whilst you are wrapped up with scarves and big coats. It’s an effortless style that suits most face shapes and hair types, and the true beauty of it is, once it’s been styled it can stay in shape no matter what the weather.

2: TEXTURED WAVES, the biggest update to our signature beachy waves. Dreamy, undone hair that is stylish and chic. Natural looking texture is the key to this trend, and here at Rhona McCallum Hair we specialise in creating styles that are on point for this updated version of waves.

3: LOW KEY LOBS, Long, almost grown out bobs, past shoulder length with subtle movement that is a big hit with celebrities and is sure to become one of the most popular styles in 2025. COLOUR is key here, it’s all about muted blondes, browns and brunettes.

4: NATURAL SHADES, This trend is an interesting one, it’s all about embracing your own hair colour, but enhancing it with multi-faceted tones that create a 3-dimensional look to your hair. This trend works for everyone as the blend of shades are chosen specifically to work with your own tones.

5: LUCKY COLOURS, A bit of a strange one this, but, according to Feng Shui, if you enhance your hair with a splash of 2025’s lucky colours, blue and (or) green, basically whatever the colour you are most attracted to, it can help attract positive energy.
