The perm is making a comeback
Here at Rhona McCallum Hair, we have always embraced perming as a trend that many of our clients enjoy. Sometimes perms get a bad press, with magazine features talking about the results that are so irrelevant and reminiscent of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Most people (of a certain age) might well have had a perming disaster in their life, but those days are long gone, and the formulations of perms are now so advanced and gentle that the results are very natural looking.
So now we see high end glossies all raving about the new permed styles that are multi flexible, from being applied to help increase volume, to being soft enough to wear without the need to blow-dry, firm enough to be dressed curly or wavy dependent on the style, and gentle enough to be blow-dried smooth without affecting the longevity of the perm itself.
Perhaps the word has got out about our team and their love of all things permed, from soft styling, to corkscrew curls, and the ever-popular boys and young man’s trend that we see regularly here in the salon. We like to imagine that that’s the case, but whatever the reality is, we know that this year is definitely going to be a year where perms become a mainstay of hairdressing services for everyone.
If you have even wondered about your hair and what perm might suit you, speak to the team, we are always happy to offer advice and recommendations.
