Earth Day is a global event that raises awareness and encourages action to protect the environment and its resources. It’s a day to celebrate the planet and promote environmental protection.

Here at Rhona McCallum Hair, we do everything we can to minimise our impact on the planet each and every day.

1: Our colour supplier uses recycled and recyclable materials in their packaging and has made inroads into reducing water consumption in the production of the product.

2: Our salon care and style ranges are environmentally friendly, in particular Davines is regarded as a world leader in sustainability and regeneration of natural resources, this is a major focus for their brand and their company ethos. ELEVEN Australia also reduce their carbon footprint by sourcing ingredients as close to production sites as possible.

3: In the salon we constantly strive to reduce our water and electricity usage wherever possible, making sure that we do our best to look after our clients whilst considering the impact on the environment.

4: Wastage is another area we strive to cut down on. The team are very aware that waste product is a global issue and everything we can do to minimise waste is done.

5: Behind the scenes we also recycle all our plastics and cardboard weekly at a recycling collection centre.

6: We use LED lighting throughout the salon. 

7: We use Eco towels in salon, as they cut down on water, drying time and detergents, they are much quicker to wash & dry. Plus, they are proven to be more hygienic.

There’s a quote that we believe sums up Earth Day –

 “The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones”. 

If we all try to carry away our small stones, the mountain will move!
